marijuana makes the opiate crisis worse


Oddly, the idea that marijuana might have a positive affect on the opioid crisis floats around.  There is no evidence for this…

In fact, studies show marijuana users are 2.7 times more likely to abuse opioids.

“We did not find evidence that supported claims of cannabis and cannabinoids improving outcomes in chronic non-cancer pain, nor that they reduced prescription opioid use” – Lancet published: longest (over 4 years), in-depth, prospective study of individuals with various types of chronic, non-cancer pain that also examines the effects of cannabis use on that pain.
